Her Story

Fire is very friendly and outgoing and wags her tail when people and animals approach. She came to Wildworks in 2005 at four weeks of age, and started traveling to our outreach programs. Once she became a senior, it was time for her to retire from traveling, but, that doesn't mean you can't meet her! Even in her old age, Fire still has the same happy and friendly demeanor she has had her whole life, and loves greeting people on tours. Her age doesn't stop her from still having fun on her own time, either, as she still goes for walks with her favorite staff members and volunteers, and still goes into our "Freedom Cage" to play with the other, younger foxes.

Red foxes are still trapped and bred for the fur industry. We think her beautiful fur coat looks better on Fire than it ever would on people!
