Volunteer at Wildworks
We are now accepting applications for volunteers at our Coarsegold, CA location! We are looking for dedicated people with a strong work ethic. Taking care of animals is no easy task, but it sure is rewarding! Volunteers are required to commit to at least one day a week, with a minimum commitment of 3 weeks a month. We understand that life happens and do not expect you to be here every single week, but do count on a regular schedule of volunteers to make sure all of our animals receive the proper care they deserve every single day.
Our volunteers are not required to have prior experience. Once your application has been reviewed and accepted, we will contact you about setting up orientation and training. All volunteers will start out shadowing and being trained by one of our staff members. Volunteers come in at 10:00 AM and start the day cleaning enclosures, grounds, kitchen, etc. Once cleaning is done, we move onto projects that can include anything from construction, watering plants, deep cleaning, grounds maintenance, etc. Once all cleaning and projects are finished for the day is when we make time for animal enrichment, or as we like to say, fun! We try our best to provide every animal with some
form of enrichment every day. This could be interacting with the animal, training, taking an animal for a walk, or making them some sort of enrichment like hiding treats in feeder puzzles or things they can tear up like bags and boxes.
After you've been checked off on all of your training on-site, you may have the opportunity to help out with educational outreach programs and fundraising events.
If you have specific skills (construction, gardening, etc.) and would like to focus your volunteer time using those skills, then please make a note of it in the "tell us a bit about yourself" in the volunteer application below.
***All volunteers are required to have their own healthcare.
